Happy 23rd Madison!

So Madison and I have such a great and complex relationship. We are only cousins, but it feels like we are sisters. We have fought and we have grown together. We spent two of our four years at BYU living together and we learned so much about each other. I knew I could always go home and talk to Madison when I needed her. We helped each other through some tough times. We planned our lives together since we were five. We wrote each other letters when we lived across the world from each other. Now the life that we planned for ourselves is happening and it is so fun! We graduated together from BYU and now Madison is getting married and I get to be a bridesmaid. I am so happy for you Madison and I love you! Happy Birthday! Here is to 23 more great years that we have planned for ourselves.

The teacher becomes the student

Today I tutored a really funny second grader. We were in one room and there was another teacher meeting with twin sisters in the room next to us and they were not being good at all. This boy turned to me and said, "twins are bad. I am glad I am not a twin with my brother!"

Then we were talking about his beta fish and he turns and says, "I just don't know one thing...how is my fish going to have babies if it can't have a mate?"

This boy is so inquisitive and it is going to be really fun tutoring him!

Girls Night In!

So Mal went back to school today and my work schedule picked up a little so that meant no more late nights for us. So this weekend we decided to make homemade pizza, drink rootbeer, and rent a cheesy chick flick. The pizzas had Ragu mushroom sauce on top, then cheese, then pineapple, then more mozzarella cheese, then onion flakes, garlic salt, and oregano to top it off. It was great fun!

I have been tagged.

So I just realized that I was tagged by Wendy so here goes.

My first tag I've ever done.

You've been tagged; so you are supposed to fill in the 3's of YOU. At the end, choose 3 people to be tagged. If I tagged you, it's because I want to know more about you. Have fun!

Three names I go by: Ms. Jones, Karlie, Kar(only if you are not my brothers because when they call me that it bugs me)

Three jobs I have had in my life:1. Sonic Drive In, Teacher's Assistant at a day care, Working in a warehouse at BYU

Three places I have lived: Colorado, California, Utah

Three Favorite Drinks: Diet coke, Water, Cherry Limeade

Three TV shows that I watch: American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance, Dancing with the Stars

Three Top Places I have Been: Swaziland, South Africa, Germany

Three of my favorite restaurants: Chili's, Cafe Rio, Longhorn's

Three things I'm looking forward to: Working again, furthering my education, being a mother someday

I tAg: Ann, Brendon, and Dad

I am employed!

So it is only part time, but it is a start. I will be working about 10 hours a week at this tutoring center. I was specifically hired to teach a 6th grade boy English. He speaks Portuguese. I have already worked a couple of hours and loved it. The pay is great and the people I work with are great too. At least it is not Wendy's and I am still getting teaching experience. Now hopefully I can still get a teaching job on top of this one! That would be perfect, but I will take what I can get for now.

My new place!

So after much waiting, here are the pictures of my new place. I also had a birthday during this internet blackout time in my life. I am now the ripe young age of 24! The first picture is me and my roommate Mal at a place called The Pie by the U in Salt Lake. The rest is my bedroom. The roses are not mine by the way...they are Madison's engagement roses. Sorry about all the books. I am still organizing.

32 hours by myself!

So I made the dumb decision to drive cross country by myself and it went really well actually. The first day was the worst; 15 hours to Tulsa. It was nice to stay in my own hotel room and just relax. The next day was a little better with a 10 hour drive to Denver. I was only planning on staying for the night, but the family I used to live with were so fun and they were getting sealed to their daughter that Saturday so I stayed until Sunday. The drive to Salt Lake was a piece of cake. I did a lot of singing and thinking and talking on the phone. I am now settled in Salt Lake and loving it. I live in an old house in Sugar House and it is great. I am still jobless though so any prayers you could throw my way would be greatly appreciated!
