What a woman!

Just like the person that these eyes belong to, these eyes can have quite the effect on you. They can make you feel sad, happy, or make you forget about all your problems. Katie is such an amazing problem solver. Katie has always been our little adult. She knew more about the neighbors lives than the rest of us. She has always been wise beyond her years. She is loving and giving to those around her. She is going to be an amazing addition to the world of adults! Happy birthday Katie and I love you!

20 vs. 20,000

These are the faces of parents who love their daughter. I was in their home for the weekend and was able to help with some of the daily rituals of taking care of a baby with cystic fibrosis. During the time that I was there, I nebulized and "thumped" Mary Deane. I turned to Ann and said, "this is the longest ten minutes of my life!" On the drive home to Georgia I roughly did the math for how many minutes Ann and Brendon have spent nebulizing and "thumping" Mary Deane and it is a lot more than me. So thanks for letting me come visit and catch a glimpse of what unconditional love is. Mary Deane is lucky to have you guys! Love you.

Happy Birthday Brendon!

Brendon is so caring of others. It has been so fun to watch him be a dad because he is so nurturing to his little Mary Deane and to Ann. He will do anything to make the two ladies in his life happy and other people can see that. He is always willing to serve and looking for ways to serve. Thanks for being such a great older sibling! Happy Birthday and I love you!

Digimon what?

So this whole motherhood thing is going to be harder than I thought. Tonight I helped my mom babysit Jake and Jordan and they wanted to play a card game with me.
Me: So what is this game called?
Jake: Digimon 5g.
Me: Okay and how do you play it.
Jake: Well each card has life points and fighting points and different powers. There are spell cards and some cards can cancel each other out...that is really all you need to know.
Me: Okay...
Yeah, I definitely did not get the point of the game and Jake was summoning cards and then sending back to the graveyard and I just listened and read the names of the cards for Jordan.

Dilligence

This is Katie and Dad's square foot garden. It looks a lot bigger now. This picture was taken about 3 weeks ago and now there are flowers growing up and wrapping around the chicken wire around it. We have eaten sandwiches with some of the lettuce on it and it just tasted better knowing that one of my family members had worked hard to grow it. Good job Katie and dad!

Searching for Guidance

Elder Zwick said, "An underlying foundation of scriptural strength comes when we ponder and pray for guidance. I realized that four elements are vital to gain spiritual strength: ponder, pray, perform, and then persevere."

I realized that I have been praying, but not pondering in my time of need of spiritual guidance. The Lord wants me to ponder and perform and persevere too. This is a picture of the tree swing in our back yard. It is places like these that I love to ponder about what it is the Lord wants me to do.
