My amazing parents!

So this is just a random blog for your reading pleasure. I was making the long walk home from school tonight and as I was solving the world's problems in my head, I thought to myself, "wow, I have amazing parents." I love both of them for very different reasons. My mom is my complete opposite and that is why we get along so well. We love to hang out and be girls. Some of my friends talk about how they have to call their parents, but I have to try and limit my phone calls with my mom to 3 times a week! She is caring and forgiving which is lucky for me because I need a lot of forgiving. My dad on the other hand is pretty much me but a man and a lot older than me. ;) That is why we get along. We think the same and we just get each other. He is sensitive to my needs and he even calls me "girlfriend" which I think is funny because he is as white as they come, but he thinks he is black (another trait that he shares with me). My parents are so great and I just wanted my blog readers to know this lovely fact. I am so lucky that I picked them as my parents and I would even say that I made an awesome choice so yay for me! I love you mom and dad!
p.s. Whose parents dress up like pirates and are proud of it?

Happy Birthday Katie!

This picture sums up Katie and how amazing she is. I mean who can look that hott while making a silly face? 17 years ago today I received one of the best answers to prayer...a little sister. Ever since then she has given me grief, but mostly she has given me indescribable joy. Katie is the one that always tells me when my jokes aren't funny or when I can't leave the house in a certain outfit because it doesn't match. She helps me with my hair and makeup because I am not talented in that department. She lets me know when I am being rude. She also never forgets to tell me that she loves me and that she appreciated me. She makes me laugh to the point of tears and she always keeps me wanting to be a better person. Oh how I love this crazy girl! Happy 17th Birthday Katie! I love you!

Working in the temple!

Well, today was my very first day and what a great day it was. The five hours that I spend there flies by because they keep you so busy. I will be in training for about six weeks...or that was the plan until they were missing about 16 people tonight so they kind of just threw us into it. One of my posts I didn't even really have memorized yet so the Lord definitely helped me out there. It is so amazing to be allowed to walk from post to post by yourself and just feel of the spirit there as you contemplate life by yourself. Today I poked my head out the new curtains at the temple and looked over Provo and Utah Lake and thought to myself, "what did I do to deserve this beautiful view?" Then if that wasn't enough of a blessing, when I was really feeling nervous to be doing things by myself, I see my sister-in-law's parents! What a tender mercy from the Lord were they! Just to see a familiar face put me at ease. I love the temple so much and am so excited that I get to serve the Lord and others!

The gifts for the niece!

Okay so now that Brendon and Ann have seen what I gave them, you all can know what I got her. I sure can't wait till she is here to use them!

Birthday Dinner!

Yesterday I was able to go over to the Knudsen's house for Brendon's birthday dinner and it was so good. I also had the great opportunity of going to my mission president's homecoming. There were about 100 old missionaries there so it was so fun to see everyone and see what they are up to in their lives. It was so good to see my mission president too and his wife. Now today I get to hang out with old family friends from Georgia! What a great weekend!

Called to Serve

So my psuedo little brother Cameran Mecham got his mission call yesterday and what a fun experience that was! He is going to the New York, Uttica mission and he reports to the MTC on September 10th! All of the feelings and memories came rushing back to me as I watched him open his mission call. I had so many people around me that love me as I opened mine. I was filled with all kind of emotions. Fear, excitement, and complete humility. The Lord truly issued my mission call and he truly helped me do His work as I was out there. I am so excited for and proud of Cameran!

A Day Late and A Dollar Short!

So I am a horrible little sister who is writing this a day late. I also have no pictures on my computer of my big brother. Although, I can not express myself as good as Ann I want to say that I have the best big brother. I have been blessed with two amazing brothers and each of them play such different roles in my life. Brendon is my protector and always has been. He looks out for me and makes things better when I need him to. I love you Brendon and hope you had a wonderful birthday!

I wish I had more money!

Well, the time has come that I needed to make a trip to Babies R' Us! My little niece is soon going to make her entrance into the world and I needed to get her something before she comes. I was so happy that I finally had a legitimate reason for going into that store. Of course I was one of the only people in there not pregnant or with kids, but it was still so much fun. I wanted to buy my niece the whole store. I held up little dress after little dress trying to picture her in it. I would tell you what I bought, but Ann and Brendon read this blog and I want it to be a suprise so look for pictures of my purchases later!

Good as new!

Dad, this post is really for your sanity. I want you to be able to see that I am treating the car right. I have actually never washed a car so much in my life. Today I vacuumed it out and wiped it down and it really does look like when we bought it so I am happy about that. It also has a full tank of gas so I could not feel more accomplished on this lovely Saturday morning!

Horton heard a what?

This is me and two of my roommates in the SWKT (swiket) quad up on campus. They had a free outdoor movie night and they showed "Horton Hears A Who." It actually ended up being a really good movie so I was suprised. There were a ton of people there. We were kind of far back so I am sure I will enjoy it more when I can actually see it and hear it better. They gave out some free t-shirts and ice cream though. We got there too late to get either of these things but we still had lots of fun. Well, off to bed so that I can wake up early and clean for cleaning checks!

My Fortune!

Well life is sometimes funny. After posting my last blog about how crazy dating life is, I get this fortune today. Let me give you background first...I just got home from a long day of work, school, and trying to read boys that are impossible to read. So I decided that a fortune cookie would make me feel a lot better so I opened mine and it said, "Your love life will soon be happy and harmonious." What a great fortune! I think it is one of the best that I have gotten in a long time. I hope that it comes true soon!

The Jungle!

Dating life at BYU is a jungle so I have decided that Bob's Big Boy is my new boyfriend! I think we will have beautiful children together don't you? ;) So for those who don't know...I am back at BYU again. I am taking two classes and working 30 hours a week. I love my classes because I am learning so much. I am finishing up my minor and I graduate in April so yay for that! I love my ward and I love living in Utah again. I am also a temple worker now so I stay pretty busy and I love it.
